The Hickory Hog

We come to Point Pleasant every summer for a week. We make sure to come to the Hickory Hog at least once but sometimes two or three times because we love it so much. Everything is delicious here from the ribs to the Mac and cheese, Cole slaw , mashed potatoes. I highly recommend! You will not be disappointed.

Let there be no hesitation when choosing The Hickory Hog for some great, soul pleasing, lip-smaking, finger licking BBQ. We were served by the sweetest curly hair waitress who was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and patient. She took great care of us from A-Z she anticipated our needs before we had to ask for anything along with the rest of the team. Now let's get down to the important part...The BBQ food. We tried the BBQ Chicken which was just the right amount of basted heaven sent fresh chicken and the Baby Back ribs. The Baby Back ribs were tender, moist, fall of the bone goodness that you long for. the Cornbread with a thick buttery honey basted deliciousness that I wanted to shove in my mouth whole it was so good!! We also tried the Mac and Cheese-and that too was so delicious that I wanted to go in the kitchen and marry the cook!! We went 4th of July-there wasn't many patrons, I'm assuming it's because everyone is down the shore...but they were missing out! Complete with a parking lot and a comfortable dining room...this is easily my top 3 in BBQ food ! Prices were extremely reasonable and establishment was clean. Please do try them-I mean this with my whole heart-It was a 10 out of 10 for me.

We had our backyard wedding last week and we chose to go with Hickory Hog in Point Pleasant for the BBQ. As the father of the bride said in his speach "you chose well". The food was Amazing! Our guests from North Carolina were impressed with the quality and flavor (and these people are picky about their BBQ). Maureen, her husband and staff were helpful, kind, and professional. Family and I stopped here on our way back to Texas from Destin. I couldn’t recommend this place more. The food was excellent! The restaurant is really neat and the lady that waited on us, April, was very nice and a good server. The town of Lucedale is such a clean and neat little southern town. Will definitely be going back if we are heading back this way!

My mom loves barbecue and I took her there for her birthday! The baby back ribs were to die for and also the sides. It is a little old-time place not a lot of tables but the food and the service were excellent. You can bring your own bottle and the liquor store is attached right to the restaurant. Personal favorite baby back ribs!

This was some of the best BBQ food we've ever had. Exactly what we were looking for! We stumbled upon this little place returning to our rental from Atlantic City, and it was well worth it. Great food and fantastic service - we were the only ones eating in, but the woman serving us was a gem. She was genuinely interesting in where we'd been and how our trip was going. We'll definitely be back if we're ever in the area again.
